As Head Teacher of Sandford Hill Primary School, may I take this opportunity to warmly welcome you to our school website. Whether you are visiting as a prospective pupil, parent, governor, teacher or volunteer we hope to provide you with an insight into our friendly school. We are situated close to the town of Longton, Stoke On Trent and conveniently close to a number of feeder high schools.
Our school motto is "Thoughtfulness, Respect and hard Work" and this can clearly be seen in the positive ways children behave towards each and through the warm relationships that exist between staff and pupils. Our pupils are courteous and well mannered and outside agencies, who support the curriculum, such as the Swimming Service and the Library Service consistently praise the behaviour of the classes they work with.

In sign language, fingerspelling is a method of spelling out words using handshapes to represent each letter of the alphabet. Fingerspelling is usually used to spell proper nouns and places or if the person doesn't know the sign for a word. Perhaps you could have a go at learning fingerspelling using these resources and then try the fingerspelling challenge.
At Sandford Hill our school motto is "Thoughtfulness and Respect." It is important to us that the needs of every child are met. Children whose first or home language is not English sometimes require specialist support on a short term or long term basis. The EAL team use specialist assessment and support materials to enable successful integration and progress.
The pastoral care of the children at Sandford Hill is the responsibility of everyone. We meet the emotional needs of all our children through positive relationships, our vision and values and the golden thread of 'Thoughtfulness, Respect and Hard Work' which weaves through everything that we do. In addition to this, our pastoral team deliver interventions to children where there is a need for a more individualised nurture provision.

Thee most amazing school with fantastic staff through out. My husband and his sister's attended this school as did my 2 children. We have recently relocated, My eldest is now in highschool and we have had to make the difficult decision to move our youngest to a school closer to home due to distance which was by far one of the most difficult… decisions we have ever had to make. Sandfordhill is like an extended family, my children felt safe and secure. they thrived every day. the school makes every body feel so welcome and has the most wonderful, dedicated staff throughout. I can not praise
