St Mary's Catholic Primary School
Our vision at St Mary's Catholic Primary School is to provide the highest quality of education within a Catholic ethos. Through the love of God, we nurture the uniqueness of each child, working hard using the talents God has given us for the good of other people and to achieve our best.

Together, with our families, our parish and our local community, we seek to create a safe, happy school where we treat each other with love and compassion and where our children become confident and caring citizens with a passion for learning. These Values which we promote daily, support the school ethos and help us to live by the Gospel Values so that the children at St Mary's growing to be.
Services
Welcome to St Mary's Catholic Primary School part of Christ the King Catholic Collegiate. On behalf of the Governors, staff, parish, children and our wider school community, thank you to those of you who have chosen St Mary's for your child's first steps in education and to those of you who are considering choosing our school for your child.
What do Governors do? St Mary's Catholic Primary School governors are drawn from different parts of the community; they are parents, staff, and members of the local neighbourhood and parish. This helps to ensure that the governing body has sufficient diversity of views and experience.

Governors do not interfere in the day-to-day teaching and running of the school, but are committed to school welfare and improvement and the importance of Catholic education in our area both now and in the future. How does the governing body work? There are normally six to eight meetings a year which involve the full governing body.
Progress and attainment of pupils in RE is good; the result of good teaching and outstanding behaviour of the children. They involve themselves wholeheartedly in opportunities to exercise their generosity in helping others. The Catholic Life of the school is given the highest priority where the development of an authentic Catholic ethos is actively sought by all.
At St. Mary's, we are aware that we are called to act out our faith. Being a Catholic is about showing our love for God by serving others in our daily lives. Our mission statement 'Learning to Live Out Our Calling with Compassion and Love' is at the core of the life of our school. We strive to actively live out our lives by listening and understaning the teachings of the gospel.
At St. Mary's, prayer is an integral part of school life. We appreciate that prayer empowers us to serve God through showing care and compassion towards others. Our children are taught traditional Catholic prayers in each year group. These prayers can be used at home to support parents in developing their children's knowledge of prayer and to continue to develop their children's understanding of what the words mean to us as Christians today.
