Meole Brace C of E Primary School and Nursery is a welcoming and friendly school that is situated on the southern outskirts of Shrewsbury. Our school was built in 1955 as two separate schools, Meole Brace C of E Infant School and Nursery and Meole Brace Junior School. We are fortunate to have large spacious light classrooms, including two brand new rooms, two large halls, a library and a computer suite which was installed in the summer of 2019.
We have created a bright and welcoming learning environment with well furnished classrooms and attractive quiet working areas in each of our corridor spaces. Classrooms are well equipped with a range of resources including interactive whiteboards and access to banks of laptops and iPads. Our beautiful Foundation Stage Unit contains a 64 place Nursery and two Reception classes.

At Meole Brace we pride ourselves on a rich and engaging history curriculum which provides the basis for cross curricular learning in the classroom. During their school career, children will develop their knowledge and understanding of the history of Great Britain and of the wider world, including ancient civilisations.
We are so lucky to have such large grounds, many people who vist are unaware just how large our site is. We have an outdoor classroom which is used throught the year, a Forest School area which is also used by our attached Children's Centre. We planted an orchard with apple and pear trees almost 10 years ago which we pick the fruit for the children to have for breaktimes.
Although we had a strange Spring Term, it did end amazingly with us all being back together having lots of learning fun in the Nursery! We hope that you have had a super fun and safe Easter! I have had a lovely family time and the Easter Bunny came to my house and hid lots of eggs all over the garden!
Welcome back after what we hope was a lovely, relaxing summer holiday! This term our topic will be 'Amazing Animals' which we will cover through Literacy and Science. Please ensure that your child brings their water bottle, book bag (including their diary and reading book), and their coat to school every day.
We hope you had a lovely summer break and are ready to get back to school. We are really looking forward to welcoming you all into Sharks and Sea Otters classes and into life in Year Three. We are going to be having lots of fun this year and will be learning lots of exciting things about The Stone Age, Ancient Egypt and Rivers throughout the year, so we hope you are all excited and have lots of questions to think about finding out about.

This school is excellent! The teachers have been fantastic, and my son is thriving! It has a wonderful ethos. He had been badly bullied at his last school and arrived at Meole Primary an anxious and depressed child, he now has friends and is at the top of his class. And the teachers have supported him when he needed most.
