I am privileged to be the Interm Headteacher of Chalvey Nursery School & Early Years Centre and lead a team of enthusiastic and dedicated staff. Our school motto is 'Sharing, Caring & Learning Together' and this is a wonderful description of our school. We understand the importance of every day in each child's life and believe that all our children have the right to the best possible learning experiences during their time with us.
We value parents' contribution to their child's education and encourage a close relationship between home and school. If you are already part of our school community we hope that you find the website helpful.

Services
Each school kept their own identity and their own governing body but shared a headteacher. During the next 3 years, the two schools formed a close relationship, working together to share resources, trainings and best practice. This meant that we could focus on raising standards for our children giving them a fantastic education.
Children with additional needs are included in all of our Nursery activities and all staff share responsibility for meeting their needs. Our Special Needs Coordinator (SENCO) works closely with parents, families, staff members and other professionals to assess children's individual needs and identify their next steps for learning.
Bumble Bees is our 2 year old Early Learning provision at Chalvey Nursery school for up to 12 children for each session, term time only. If your child is eligible for this provision, and there is a place available, your child will be offered a place the term after they are two years old. We also offer fee paying places for two year olds at a cost of 90.00 per week, term time only.
The Governing Body is made up of parents, staff, representatives of the local authority and other members of the community. They are all volunteers who are committed to our work and have knowledge and expertise to share with us. Their term of office is usually four years.
They meet at least 6 times a year and support the staff to deliver the school's vision, to ensure that the school is continuously improving and meet a number of statutory requirements. It is governors who hold the main responsibility for finance in schools and they work with the headteacher to make decisions about how to balance resources.

I consider Chalvey Nursery as a home from home; it is filled with colour, fun and opportunities for the children to learn. Above all, the children are able to slowly blossom into confident little beings, aided by well-educated staff that demonstrate that sincerity, passion and love for what they do.
