Here at Dalton school, we aim for a high quality history curriculum that ignites in pupils a real curiosity and fascination about Britain's past and that of the wider world. Our aim is to fulfil the requirements of the National Curriculum for History whilst also being fully inclusive to every child; providing a broad, balanced and differentiated programme of study that encompasses British Values throughout.
It is our ambition that children learn about inspiring and challenging historical themes which enable them to develop their personal choices, attitudes and values. Through finding out about how and why the world, our country, cultures and local communities have developed over time, children understand how the past influences the present, and this develops a context for their growing identity.

Services
Dalton School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the well being of all of its pupils. Each pupil's welfare is of paramount importance. We recognise that some children may be especially vulnerable to abuse. We recognise that children who are abused or neglected may find it difficult to develop a sense of self worth and to view the world in a positive way.
Pupil Premium was introduced by the Department of Education in 2011. It is additional funding allocated to the school to support groups of children who are vulnerable and could possibly under achieve. These include children who are entitled to free school meals, children of service personnel, children looked after by the Local Authority or adopted from care and in 2015_16, disadvantaged three and four year old children.
During the academic year 2020/2021, Dalton School will receive 19,890 (16,000 + 10 per child). Ensure that Sports Premium funding is used to improve, and provide extra opportunities for physical activity and sport at our school. Make sport and activity accessible for all by maintaining and replenishing our sports equipment, as well as making sure our sporting areas are fit for purpose.
Honeysuckle provides a safe and confidential place for pupils and parents at Dalton School. Five members of staff at our school have unique roles in offering skilled and appropriate support to children and their families. Mrs Eastwood provides confidential and individual support to children experiencing difficulties at school and, in some cases, at home for a variety of reasons.
