We stayed 3 nights in Room 2 and loved it. It's in a fabulous situation in the old town close to the Abbey steps and I loved it's quirkiness. The room itself was very clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable and the huge shower was fabulous. A large tea tray and toiletries are provided. Just lacking a chair in the room for when drying your hair

We stayed in the old dispensary for three nights and without a doubt one of the nicest B&B's we've ever stayed in. Fabulous location in the heart of the town, less than 5 mins walk to the 199 steps. The cottage itself is set across three floors and is beautifully decorated and has everything you need included. We brought our dog who loved it as well especially going up and down the stairs exploring. If you are thinking of staying here, definitely book it, you won't regret it!

The Wow factor was used alot by me and my husband, we stayed in the cottage (The Chocolate Shop) Becca and Ian have thought of everything, extremely well equipped, definitely a home from home, the gorgeous fresh flowers were the cherry on the top. We will definitely be back with the grandkids to enjoy the well equipped toy box. This cottage is highly recommended.

Stopped for lunch in the courtyard during a day trip to Whitby. It was busy so would recommend booking, especially at the moment as tables are limited to outside only due to covid rules. The staff were really friendly and it felt very covid safe. We had the tomatoes on toast, the mushroom pate and some skin on fries, all very tasty. Lots of ‘free from’ options too. We didn’t order any cakes but saw some come out for other diners and they looked delicious! Bathrooms were also nice and clean. Would definitely return.

We didn't intend to stay in Whitby but it was sunny so changed our mind.
One of the best changes of plans ever.
The person on the phone when I booked was marvellous.
Walking into the room was brilliant, even the little old Jack Russell got excited.
Perfect location, brilliant room and all scary for Halloween. I forgot it was Halloween but definitely going back next year.

I went yesterday for breakfast, and it was lovely! Both a vegan and vegetarian option as well as a good meat option so both me and my friend where happy! They have screens up between tables and staff were all super friendly and wearing masks, so I felt really safe. 10/10 experience !

Relaxing atmosphere and lovely food required a return visit. Stopped for elevenses, with a nice pot of Yorkshire tea and a tea cake. Noticed they had some interesting vegetarian fare as well, so after climbing the 199 stairs to the Abbey and back down, we needed somewhere warm for a pleasant respite. Had a bowl of beautiful minted pea soup with feta cheese and two warm granary rolls. Just the thing to recharge before facing the shops. Lovely place inside and out.

My friend (a vegetarian) and I (a non-vegetarian) ate here today based on the previous reviews and we were not disappointed. The menu catered for both us is in equal amounts with plenty of vegetarian and non vegetarian choices. The food was fresh, good quality and plenty of it. The service was very good and the staff very helpful, friendly and attentive. We would and will definitely eat there again and would thoroughly recommend it. PS the cakes are to die for :-).

Sanders Yard is a bit of a gem in the heart of Whitby. A few tables on the outside accompanied by an impressive water feature was a good start. As we ventured inside, the first room was full of luxurious sofas and leather chairs, an area perfect for people with young families or couples having a spot of lunch. This leads into the counter area were you order your food. The menu is primarily vegetarian with a variety of dishes like quiches, butternut squash lasagnes, vegetarian burgers, all good wholesome food. There is variety of filled sandwiches and jacket potatoes with a sizeable side salad too

This is a brilliant place. The food is fantastic, the portions are huge and the atmosphere is relaxed and calming. Some stunning paintings by local artists hang on the walls. The veggie selections are out of this world - especially the butterbean lasagne and home-made garlic bread. The children are well catered for with toys, books, bottle-warming available, baby-change,etc.The staff are great - nothing is ever too much trouble. It's a great place to go when you want to eat something wonderful but don't want to go to the trouble of dressing for the occasion. The plant in the far corner

As I normally go to Whitby with a veggie we often call into Sanders Yard. I prefered it when the cafe was at the rear of the health food shop. Now the only entrance is down the yard. As a veggie place it's very good but as it's 99% veggie the meaty menu (if your not veggie)is limited. But all the food is good, the counter ordering service is adequate for the type of place. Food comes reasonably quickly. Not cheap (or perhaps I'm just getting mean!)

We had breakfast here because we were staying at the Shepherd's Purse which is on the same courtyard.

I got the Vegetarian Breakfast and my companion got the English Breakfast. Both were enormous - including veggie sausage or pork sausage and bacon, scrambled eggs, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, and toast - yummy and only £5! It's an excellent meal to fuel you on the 6.5 mile clifftop walk to Robin Hood's Bay.

The dining room is cute and cozy. Food is ordered from the counter and delivered to your table.
