We are a warm and aspirational school, proud of our pupils and the journey they take from Reception to Year 6 and beyond. Our vision, based on our School's Christian values, is to provide a welcoming, nurturing environment for learning at the heart of our community. Together, we provide a solid foundation of growth, appreciating each child with their God-given uniqueness and individual needs, thus empowering them to become responsible and fulfilled members of society.

At Hillesley, your child will benefit from a high teacher-to-pupil ratio; a focus on learning to the best of their individual abilities; positive celebrations of their successes; opportunities to take part in all school activities and clubs; a sense of community based on Christian values that build self-confidence, empathy and a lively enthusiasm for life.

Mrs Pedley is our Head Teacher who also teaches in KS2. She has been teaching at the school for 12 years and before coming to Hillesley, she taught in a variety of schools in Cardiff, London and Manchester. Mrs Pedley is our SENCo (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) and she also leads Maths, PE and PSHE (Personal, Social, Health Education).
We are thrilled to have a wonderful Forest School site where children can learn and play with a fully trained Forest School leader. This lovely area is a 5 minute walk from school, just along from the school allotment and is used during the school day and for after school activities. Every effort is made to teach the pupils about preserving the environment and we take being eco very seriously.
Pupils are elected by other pupils at the being of each school year. Each pupil on the School Council must want to stand and give a presentation on why they want to be a School Council Representative. The School Council Representatives have a very important role in school, as they challenge the school on important issues, and give the school ideas of what is needed to make the school a happy and inviting place to learn.
Please see the remote Learning Policy and the timetable for our current online, remote learning for Key Stage 1/EYFS and Key Stage 2. The approach we are taking is a combination of live sessions for some face-to-face contact with the teachers and a variety of lessons from nationally promoted and curriculum matched resources including the Oak Academy, White Rose Maths and Rising Stars.
