Welcome to St. John the Baptist C of E Primary School. Our website gives prospective parents an insight into life in our school, whilst providing parents of our current children with useful information and resources to enable us to work well together. We are unable to have prospective parents visit our site at present so we thought that this would help to give you a flavour of our school.

Our Head boy and girl worked hard to provide the narration, whilst parents and staff combined to make the film and edit everything together. This exemplifies the way that we work in this school. We hope you enjoy our video and please contact the school to arrange for a phone call or virtual meeting with me if you would like any more information.

Welcome to St. John the Baptist C of E Primary School. Our website gives prospective parents an insight into life in our school, whilst providing parents of our current children with useful information and resources to enable us to work well together.

We work hard to provide an education that develops each child's individual skills based on high quality teaching along with creative learning both in class and outdoors, which includes Open Futures and ELLI.We also offer a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities, including sports and clubs.
Our Governors play an important strategic role by giving direction and focus on the governance of the school. Their role is to govern rather than to manage. Appointing staff, including the headteacher, and hold them to account for the performance of the school;. Communicating openly and effectively with parents, the local church and village community, the local authority and the diocese;.
The Department of Education has an expectation that schools will provide 'British Values' namely democracy, rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. At this school we see this as being relevant throughout school life and very much part of our Christian ethos.
It shows our distinctive Christian vision and values and how these link to and support the work we do across the school. These values are sourced from Bible stories and Biblical references, which are also included. They are part of school life through displays, assemblies, RE and the way we try to treat each other.
We follow the national curriculum (2014), which forms the backbone of our school curriculum but we also include other elements that enhance and shape the children's experiences giving them a stimulating, rich and varied range of learning opportunities. All staff work hard to make lessons both enjoyable and effective and this is supported by two key curriculum initiatives.
