Long House Cottages are situated in the beautiful Great Langdale valley in the heart of the Lake District National Park. Enjoying a peaceful location near the foot of the Langdale Pikes, the cottages stand in a beautiful south facing terraced garden, which has superb mountain views of the head of the valley.
We have four self-catering holiday cottages available, sleeping from two to six people. The cottages have private off-road parking and WiFi Internet access. Sorry but we do not allow pets. The Great Langdale valley contains the two small villages of Elterwater and Chapel Stile, originating around the old gunpowder works and slate quarry.

The spacious cottage has 3 bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom and sleeps up to 6 people. The garden faces south and has a sitting out area to enjoy the superb mountain views of the head of the valley.

We stayed in the main house which sleeps 6. The location is superb, super tranquil. The house is old fashioned, but in a good way with loads of character, although the kitchen is modern and nicely fitted out.
We had a great time there, the owners being very happy to oblige (They live in an adjacent property)

When we arrived, Eater week, the place was cold perhaps we were the first of the seasons occupants however it took two days for the place to heat up. The cottage itself; ours was the sleeps four, is small and we found it cramped if well laid out. Given the cold weather we found the heating bearly upto the job of heating the place resulting in a reasonably satisfactory say.
