Situated on Grove Farm in the beautiful Stock Valley, our converted stone barn is home to four superb holiday cottages. Grove Farm is a stunning 160 acre setting that feels a million miles from anywhere, yet Ambleside is close by with an excellent choice of shops, bars and restaurants. You also have easy access to all the magnificent scenery and exciting pursuits that the Lake District has to offer.

Corner Grove is spacious but still retains a cosy rustic charm with a liberal peppering of original beams and exposed slate walls. To take advantage of the spectacular views, the living room and kitchen areas are upstairs. Downstairs there is a very spacious family bedroom with an en-suite bathroom.
Little Grove sits on the upper level of our stone barn. A wealth of lovely Cumbrian slate and original timbers keep the country atmosphere in what is the perfect cottage for two. Our smallest cottage features a well-appointed kitchen, sitting alongside the living area with comfy leather sofa and log burner.
Middle Grove is perfect for families and smaller groups. The comfortable lounge and dining area has amazing views and is rich with original features, whilst the kitchen is well-equipped for guests to prepare anything from sandwiches to family meals. The views are equally dramatic from both the double and twin bedrooms which are furnished to a high standard with old pine pieces.
High Grove is a very spacious 3-storey cottage with fantastic views to Kirkstone Pass, Red Screes and the Langdale Valley. The front door leads into the hallway, off which are one king-size and one twin-bedded room, both with lots of character and pine furniture. The kitchen, dining and living spaces all occupy the open-plan first floor.
Grove Cottages on Grove Farm are situated in the stunning Stock Valley just outside Ambleside, a little over two miles from the head of Windermere. Our private drive takes you past Stockghyll Falls and through the grasslands of the farm. The views from the cottages are spectacular, from the Old Man of Coniston on the horizon, to Wansfell towering above the farm and the rocky outcrops of Red Screes to the North.

What a wonderful place to stay! We spent there one week and really enjoyed it. It is about 20 minutes walk from Ambleside in the middle of the nature - no traffic, no people - just relaxing. It is also a great area for a lot of beautiful hikes. The family who is running this place is very friendly and helpful. Thanks!

I have stayed at Grove cottages several times and I have never been disappointed. The reception by Sarah made us feel so welcome and each subsequent visit made me feel like I was ‘coming home’. The cottages are very comfortably fitted out, clean and actually quite adorable. Oh did I mention the home made cakes? 😊. Last summer they had a pet orphan lambs and my little boy got the chance to bottle feed them with the help of Lilly, Sarah’s daughter. They also have free range chickens, all individually named.
We are all looking forward to our next visit. I can’t recommend highly enough
