Minsterley Primary School
Forest School is an internationally recognised process in which children are educated in the outdoors environment, preferably a woodland setting, on a regular basis. It is a planned and well organised programme of child-centred learning. Through a balance of responsible risk taking and building trust, Forest School explicitly supports children's social, emotional and physical development.

The session usually begins with a teacher-led, whole class activity and then the children move on to work in small groups at their own pace on a wide range of activities. These may include finding and collecting things, learning about the plants, trees animals and insects, creating art and sculpture using natural materials, making shelters and other structures and playing games.
Services
Our school is a medium size community school in the beautiful South Shropshire countryside serving the busy and thriving village of Minsterley. Our links with many organisations and other local schools ensures that the children are in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere throughout their time with us.
At Minsterley Primary School we believe children learn best when they feel safe and secure. We aim to offer an outstanding education that encourages each child to be the best they can be. We recognise individual talents and develop confidence so every child is motivated, inspired and enjoys learning.
Although Minsterley School is not a church school it does have excellent links with Minsterley Parish Church. Members of the church attend assemblies every fortnight and act out Bible stories through the 'Open the Book' project. Members of the Parish Church are also regular volunteers in school helping children to learn to read, playing the piano for concerts and assisting with our development and exploration of the churchyard.
All our staff have up-to-date safeguarding training certificates from Shropshire Council and are aware of the signs of abuse and neglect. We have designated members of staff to whom concerns are referred and who are here to help you as parents. These staff have completed Designated Lead Training and attend refresher training as required.
Pupil Premium funding is given to schools based on eligibility for Free School Meals over the last 6 years (excluding the infant free school meals provision). Child Tax Credit, provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income of 16,190 or less, as assessed by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs.
