Pros and Cons
Having just spent a week at Farsyde Farm with family, here’s some pros and cons, which would’ve been useful to be aware of before our trip…
Pros:
- Stunning location, handy for beach/village/walks.
- Easy parking
- Farmyard animals great for kids
- Direct but friendly host. She tried her best it seemed to address any concerns and was helpful in helping us sort a special dinner party for a celebration.
- An interesting opportunity to stay in a really old house.
Cons:
Accommodation (Farsyde farm house and Mews Cottage number 4) was very rough around the edges, had not

My sister and I had booked this property via Airbnb, and were due to go on holiday with our families (4 adults, 3 children) tomorrow (19th August) The host cancelled less than 48 hours before we were due to check in, without even the common decency to apologise, and little more than 'unforeseen circumstances' as the reason. Bitterly disappointed to say the least. I would not recommend booking this property as the host very obviously does not value potential guests.

Sadly you delete all reviews on Facebook, I wish I had known about your terrible reputation. We were not the only people to be let down by this so called riding school… we were joined by another girl who too was let down last minute…. Please be warned this woman is rude, unprofessional and by all accounts we had a lucky escape… we have already and will continue to visit Croft farm, excellent riding, gorgeous ponies and most importantly people who deserve the business, perhaps Farsyde could learn a thing or two from them, mainly courtesy and respect!!

We stayed at Mistral cottage. Excellent location and nice and clean. The owners have thorough covid hygiene, which is reassuring. Unfortunately Heidi, who deals with guests doesn't have a great manner at all and seems to be at one with conflict. Our visit began with her asking who we were whilst yelling at the general public for using the right of way which runs through the farm. She shouted at our four year old for closing a blind then bounded up our path, yelling at us about how our daughter shouldn't be in the bedroom which is clearly a child's room. All very peculiar. It seems the property
