The school is bright, spacious and very well equipped both inside and out, to ensure that our children grow and learn in a happy and secure environment.
Services
As a Catholic school, we stand for respect, dedication, achievement, equality, success, creating opportunity, high standards, and strong ties with our parish and community. We strive to develop happy learners through providing an education that nurtures and develops each child as a whole person, in the image of Christ.
The Board of Governors has overall responsibility for the effective management of the school. It is composed of nominees of trustees, the Western Education and Library Board and the Department of Education, a parent and a teacher elected by the teachers. The members hold office for four years. The Governors as a group work together in partnership with the Principal and the staff to ensure the provision of good education for our children.
At Saint Eithne's Primary School we have our team in place for Child Protection and Safeguarding. We have a variety of members ranging from school staff to members of our Board of Governors. All procedures and relevant information regarding Child Protection and Safeguarding can be found within our policies which you have received and indeed from our school website.
Our School Council meets regularly to share ideas and suggestions about ways in which we can make our school a better place for everyone. Each School Council member is a representative of our Primary 5 to 7 Class Councils. In this way the School Councillors listen to the views of their classmates and take these views on to School Council level.
WELL DONE to the Rights Respecting Steering Group! We have achieved our Recognition of Commitment certificate which is the vital first step towards becoming a Rights Respecting school. This is an award given to schools on behalf of UNICEF. In 1989 governments adopted the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child(CRC).
