Hillbrook Primary School is a large, vibrant school in the heart of Tooting. We place a strong emphasis on the individual child and encourage our children to make the most of each opportunity, in order to gain the best from their education. Services
At Hillbrook, we believe that learning about history enables pupils to learn about our rich and diverse past, which continues to shape our future. History teaching stimulates pupils' interest and understanding about significant events and the lives of significant people in the past through engaging classroom lessons, drama workshops, visits to historical sites and museums.
Governors and Staff have worked hard together (with input from parents, children and other stakeholders) to create a coherent ethos, supported by aims, values and a longer-term vision, finalised in Summer Term 2019. We actively promote opportunities to enable our children to become responsible, reflective and resilient members of our school community and beyond.
A score of 0 means pupils on average have done as well at KS2 as those with similar prior attainment nationally. A positive score means pupils have performed better at KS2 than those with similar prior attainment nationally. The pupil premium is an additional amount of money provided by the government for those children who have been entitled to receive free school meals at any point during the last six years. Schools also receive funding for children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months, and children of service personnel (families who have parents in the Armed forces).
The pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities and to close the gaps between them and their peers. Schools are given the choice of how to use these funds to best meet those pupils' needs.
The Government uses the number of children entitled to Free School Meals, those in the care of the Local Authority and those with parents in the armed forces to calculate an appropriate amount of Pupil Premium for the school.Whilst children receiving FSM are often supported, the school does not focus on these pupils alone.

Today, with my business Immersive Theatres, I delivered a 5m digital planetarium experience to 180 Year 3 and Year 5 pupils at Hillbrook Primary School. I was warmly welcomed by the staff (who helped me moved my equipment up three flights of stairs) and found the hall prepared just as I had requested. The day was well organised with all groups arriving on time. The excited students enjoyed a rich selection of content: peering up at the planetarium night sky, visiting the International Space Station, handling a famous meteorite and learning about the colours of stars, the bodies of the Solar System
