Since 1968 Bluebird Kindergarten have been providing quality daycare in Liverpool for parents wanting the best possible start for their children. We accept children aged 2 to 5 years. Please call in and speak to us about your childcare needs. We are based in Allerton, near Penny Lane and are housed in several classrooms adjoining Elm Hall Drive Methodist Church.
We are proud to have been operating under the same management since 1978 and thriving on recommendation alone. Our team of dedicated staff are committed to implementing a rich and stimulating curriculum full of interesting activities for all children who attend both full and part time. Joint owners Joanne and Sheila Carmichael are on duty to answer your questions or chat about the nursery day.

Here at Bluebird Kindergarten Liverpool we are implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. The curriculum is divided into 7 areas of development. Through our active learning programme the children will develop as successful learners, skilful communicators and confident, effective contributors.
Montessori is a revolutionary method of observing and supporting the natural development of children. At Bluebird the method is used to ensure that children are free to choose and explore activities that they are interested in. They are given time and space to practise new skills repeatedly until they have concreted their understanding and knowledge.
During the 1970's Bluebird grew from strength to strength offering parents a unique learning environment for their children. With a strong emphasis on creative development and drama, Mrs Bradbury, and from 1978 Mrs Carmichael, provided the children with a wide range of enriching experiences.
The black and white furniture in the photographs remained in use until 1990, a lot of it was solid oak and would still be used today but for the sheer weight of it!The vaulted ceiling in the main hall upstairs was lowered in the 80's to keep the rooms warmer in the winter. Those beautiful parquet floors although still in great shape, are now covered in a more child friendly mix of lino and carpet areas.

I would like to thank all the staff at Bluebird Kindergarten for their hard work, attention and care of our son over the last two years. From the first week to the last, our son has looked forward to going in every day, with a customary "yea!" when he knew he would be having his packed lunch there too.

Montessori is the most wonderful path of education where the child learns independence and self care, and the team at Bluebird Kindergarten nurture these little people with so much love that they allow that inner will to learn to thrive! My two children have loved and do love attending Bluebird - it's not a factory nursery, but an independent child's house where each child's needs is carefully and lovingly attended allowing each child to flourish and develop at their own pace. They leave ready for school and with the world at their fingertips!
