Nether Green Nursery opened in 2017 for children aged between 6 months and 5 years and has steadily grown to become one of the most popular nurseries in the area due to a fantastic reputation for providing warm and nurturing childcare. Situated in an ideal location close to many local schools, our rooms are bright and airy and provide plenty of natural light.
The nursery benefits from a wonderful garden for children to play and explore no matter what the weather. Fun and stimulating activities are carefully planned based around your child's interests by our friendly staff team who work in partnership with you throughout your journey with us. Our aim is to provide traditional childcare in a safe environment where children can develop into happy, kind and confident individuals.

Services
The Bumble Bee room has large windows providing plenty of natural light with soft carpet and hard flooring for meal times and messy and creative play. There is a cosy area with cots for resting and sleep times as well as nappy changing facilities. We provide a home from home environment ensuring a flexible and relaxed routine tailored to each individual child.
Within our spacious toddler room, we have an open messy area that the children have access to painting and mark making, sand and water, playdough and tactile activities. The layout provides a cosy resting area where children can relax, read stories and socialise with their peers. Our continuous provision areas within the room are designed to meet the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and are age and stage appropriate.
The pre-school is a team of five qualified staff members who ensure a fun start to education for up to 32 children. Our pre-school teachers encourage independence through meal times where the children 'self-serve' and prepare some of their own meals. The class is occasionally split into age and stage appropriate groups of children, so that key workers can focus on a child's individual strengths and targets.
We have an enviably large garden area which provides continuous provision alongside spontaneous activities planned by our nursery team. This includes a water wall, a music area, climbing and other outdoor equipment and a sensory garden area where children can grow their own plants and vegetables. As well as making the most of our garden space we also use the wider community such as Endcliffe Park, Forge Dam and the Botanical Gardens.
Our lunchtime meals are freshly prepared and delivered in specialist equipment provided by a local chef. Our chef is passionate about food and particularly keen on providing children with a healthy and varied diet using only the best quality ingredients. Children on funded places have the option to bring a packed lunch to nursery instead.

My son went to Parkhead Nursery from about a year old and then moved to Nethergreen Nursery when he was 3. Both nurseries are absolutely amazing. We looked at quite a few before we chose them, and no one came close. We just knew when we walked in that we wanted our son to be at these nurseries. The Nursery staff are absolutely amazing, they really cared for him. Our little boy is now starting school in a couple of weeks and thanks to Ellis and the team he is so prepared and so excited about starting big school!

We had a rather unsettling experience with our son’s first nursery, and it made us very worried as we had only just moved back to England from Vietnam. He had never have any problem enjoying the nursery there.
From the very first day at the nursery, all teachers and staffs made us all feel welcome and we felt very comfortable and assured that our… son was now in good hands, which was a relief to us. We have loved picking our son up from nursery and receiving a nice roundup from the team on what he's been up to. He's always been so happy when we walk home together, and more than once
