Greystone Primary School

Greystone Primary is situated on the main Greystone Road in Antrim. The school has been an integral part of the community it serves since it was opened in 1970. Greystone Primary is sited in extensive grounds including a large grass area to the rear, a recently resurfaced large playground to the front and separate infant playground to the rear.

Environment: We provide a safe and engaging setting where children are inspired to become inquisitive independent learners.

The School Council attended an Anti-bullying Ambassadors training day, funded by the Diana Award and held at Antrim Grammar School in March. They have also been able to purchase some playground signs and equipment by raffling a teddy, kindly donated and made by Mrs. Armstrong, during the performances of Panto Pandemonium in April.

We were very fortunate to have been invited to Belfast International Airport to raise money for Kinship Care. We all raced to hug Kuddles the bear and for every child who hugged Kuddles, 5 was donated. Over 92 children hugged him! We finished off our visit with a trip to the viewing gallery to see the planes.

This term we've been looking at the topic of dinosaurs. We've made masks, role played being a palentologist and have even written our own books about dinosaurs! In Litercy P2 have been learning all about rhyming words and working really hard to write independently. In Numeracy we've been really busy trying to find ways to make numbers up to 5 and seeing how many ways we can make 5p.
