At Sebert Wood we aim for all our children to show respect for all, to develop resilience and a readiness for every stage of school life, for the wider world and for the future. On behalf of the staff, children and governors, we are pleased to welcome you to the Sebert Wood School website. We hope you find it informative, useful and interesting.
We pride ourselves on being a happy and vibrant learning community with high expectations, a safe nurturing atmosphere and an exciting, challenging curriculum. Above all, a school that children really want to come to. We provide a broad, balanced and stimulating curriculum within the context and understanding of our shared values.

The Bury Schools Partnership is a group of schools working together on improving teaching, developing the curriculum, providing high quality staff training, and sharing the expertise already in our schools. Together, we have responsibility for around three thousand children aged 4-18 and we are delighted to be working in partnership to support every child.
The School Gateway now has the facility enabling extended school cancellations as well as bookings. We think this will be very helpful and allow you to manage your own bookings and cancellations 24hrs a day. Please note any cancellations will not be accepted by the school email and should all be done by yourselves online and the 24hrs minimum notice still applies so you will not be charged.
We are currently seeking applicants for Midday Supervisor Assistants, term-time only, Monday - Friday, 11.30am - 1.15pm. Lunchtime is an important time of the day for the children and we aim to provide a high level of care and attention. We are therefore seeking applicants who can relate to and talk to children well.
The project has involved 128 schools from across the UK in researching innovative approaches to how Teaching Assistants can be best deployed in order to enable pupils to make maximum progress. In school we set up a working group consisting of the Headteacher, the SENCo, Teachers, Teaching Assistants and Governors who have overseen the project.
We are pleased to be able to share information with parents/carers about our pastoral care on the school website. There will always be children and young people in schools facing life challenges that detract from their ability to engage with learning. Some will require greater support to increase their emotional literacy than others.
