Our school vision is central to the relationships within the school community and when encouraging everyone to learn. The school council searched for an appropriate biblical quote as a foundation for our vision. They selected the quote from John's Gospel because it had relevance for everyone, regardless of belief and one that they felt conveyed the ethos of our school.
The school mosaic also represents the positive relationships within the school community, showing children holding hands working together. We are a Church of England school so have remembered our foundation when selecting 6 core values. Each term we share stories from the Bible that illustrate the values.

In Nursery we primarily focus on Phase 1 Letters and Sounds Phonics. This involves using our listening skills to distinguish the sounds we hear in the environment, when playing instruments and when using our bodies. For those children who are ready for the next phase in their phonics learning we move on to learn letter sounds and names.
This week we will be receiving a letter from The 3 Little Pigs asking for help to collect sticks for building with. Go on a winter walk with your child to collect some sticks and talk about how the environment has changed. Ask your child to describe what they can see, smell and touch. They may talk about the cold air and that there are no leaves on the trees!
Here are a series of activities which will mirror what we are doing at school. We will be talking about different sizes and will be using the language; small/smallest, medium sized and big/biggest. We will also be continuing our learning about different shapes and will be using shapes to create pictures.
