A warm welcome is waiting for you and your child at Compton CE Primary School. Our SIAMS inspector said The school's Christian vision, how Jesus grew and became strong in spirit and filled with wisdom, is clearly embraced as a positive and inspiring phrase by all within the school community. Parents remark on the increasing levels of confidence and friendliness shown by pupils as they progress through the school.
Pupils who join the school soon feel they belong. At Compton CE Primary school, we value our place in our local community and maintain an open door policy to work in partnership with our families. Every child at Compton CE Primary School is treated as an individual: enjoyment, challenge and learning are at the heart of everything we do.

Our biblical verse refers to Jesus' childhood up to the age of 12; a time when children are naturally inquisitive and eager to learn. By providing opportunity for our children to develop resilience, excellent interpersonal skills, good manners, time for reflection and high moral standards, we hope that our children will develop good character thus becoming "strong in spirit."
Admissions to the school should be made via the West Berkshire Council admissions department. The admissions department manage the waiting list for our school or can advise you on current numbers and availability within year groups. Their contact number is: 01635 519771 and their email is: admissions@westberks.gov.uk.
The Pupil Premium is an element of school funding aimed at narrowing the gap in attainment between certain disadvantaged groups of pupils and those who are more well off. In 2014-15 funding was calculated on the basis of each pupil who has been eligible for free school meals in the past six years, and for looked after children in care for more than six months.
At Compton, Pysical Education is an integral part to the wellbeing of our children not just during their PE lessons but throughout the entire school day. We regularly participate in Outdoor Learning in our grounds which include a private embankment on an old disused railway and have also been given permission by the local parish committee to use the village playing fields for after-school clubs.
This has not been possible due to the current restrictions and guidelines but hopefully Street Dance, Fencing, Judo and Yoga will be back when appropriate and safe to do so. Again, children will be notified of when these will be commencing. One thing we do have to look forward to is the range of coaches who will be visiting the school this acdemic year starting after half term.

Report
Today, with my business Immersive Theatres, I delivered a 5m digital planetarium experience to 70 Reception to Year 2 pupils at Compton Primary School. I was warmly welcomed by the staff and found the hall prepared just as I had requested. The morning was well organised with all groups arriving on time. The excited but well-behaved students enjoyed a rich selection of content: peering up at the planetarium night sky; visiting the International Space Station; learning about the different types of stars and the planets of the Solar System. Thank you Compton Primary for a very pleasant visit.
