I really enjoyed the workshop with the children. It's nice to go in the school and have the kids tell you what they have been learning about and seeing their wonderful work. At Greenacres, we pride ourselves on being a friendly, inclusive school with a positive ethos towards children, parents, carers and staff. Children enter the school at different starting points and, through supporting, developing and educating the whole child, they make good progress and leave ready for the next stage in their learning.
Services
We at Greenacres Primary School and Early Years' Centre strive to promote a positive attitude to learning and relationships, leading to the best possible outcomes for all. We encourage independence in an environment where everyone feels safe to make mistakes and shows support and empathy for each other.
Greenacres is a caring school with the highest expectations of all of our children. As well as our mainstream school, we have a daycare provision for children aged 2 to 4, including a wraparound childcare for children in our school nursery; a provision for children with language impairment and Breakfast Club, After School Club and a Holiday Club.
At Greenacres we have a School Council comprising of elected children from our KS2 classes. School Council meets weekly to discuss the issues that drive us. Fundraising comprises a large part of the role of the School Council, with the school supporting a number of charities and working with a number of groups to make improvements to our local area.
Our Parent and Staff Governors are elected, the Headteacher has a standing post, co-opted governors are nominated and approved by the board, and Trust appointed governors are appointed by Maritime Academy Trust's Board of Trustees. Terms last for 4 years at a time. All Governors have signed a Register of Interests to indicate whether they have a potential conflict of interest, and there are none other than as recorded.
Greenacres is a mainstream primary school which also has a provision for children with specific language impairment. This group of children, although taught in separate classes, usually forms approximately 15% of the children in the school and their attainment is included in the published levels of attainment for the school.

This is purly based on the visit last month alone, as my child is not at the school. But I was very impressed with the behaviour of the children, the teachers the facilities and the clear passion that the head teacher had for the school and pupils, she even knew all the children by name. I would to pick this school as my 1st choice but it is too far... but the speech and Lang provision, which is what drew me to the school was brilliant I wish there was a provision like that close to home. Large building considering its 1 class intake.
