Keeping you, the team, and local communities safe remains our top priority while making sure everyone has a fantastic break in the Lake District. We are monitoring the changing government guidance and regulation and would ask that you must do the same and adhere to the rules that apply to you. We're slap-bang in the middle of the Lake District.
And we couldn't be more smug about it. Wake up every morning surrounded by peaceful Lakeland countryside, and then spend your day exploring some of the UK's most inspiring landscapes. And for when you want to relax? Our luxurious suites with log burning stoves, emperor beds and private balconies will be waiting for you when you return.

Probably one of the most comfortable and luxurious hotels I've stayed in. The inset glass-fronted wood burning stove was a nice touch, and great to fall asleep in front of while laying on a bed the size of a tennis court. And open up the full width concertina doors and you suddenly feel outside, right up in the trees. A very special experience.

Lovely room, spa and staff. Only significant let down was the the Air con in the room didn't work. Wasn't particularly hot (19 degrees) but having a 2 storey room on the second floor, the bed upstairs was very hot. We only stayed to nights and mentioned on 2nd day, but nothing changed and a really difficult sleep. So for £400 a night, to come home from a spa hotel feeling more tired than when you left is a real shame.

This is a hotel that lives up to its 5-star rating. The rooms are very spacious, wonderfully decorated with attention to detail, very comfortably fitted and with some great feature baths, showers and even wood-burning stoves.
The hosts who look after you during your stay are extremely diligent and helpful without being intrusive. There are various drinks including wine and beer available at no charge as well as snacks.
You pay a lot to stay, but you get an awful lot for your money. And your right in the heart of the Lake District world heritage site.

Stunning fireside suite with plenty of complimentary goods such as beer and wine and cream tea. The rotating TV is a nice touch so we could watch it from wherever in the room. The fire is very easy to use and feels safe too. The only problem was when we moved a chair, there was a half eaten scone underneath, which makes us question the cleaning efficacy - obviously a concern in current times.
The staff are fantastic and I haven't said anything yet so will have to see what they say.
