Holy Child is a friendly, stimulating place to learn. We take pride in being a school which not only caters for the educational needs of the children entrusted to our care, but also strives to develop in them a truly Christian outlook on life. We are proud to serve the parish of St. Mary's and indeed, the whole community of Creggan.
As we are a small school our children have a strong sense of community and we ensure that every child feels happy, safe and nurtured. We want our children to have a variety of experiences during their time with us, to be willing to try new things without fear of failure and to become independent and confident young people.

Services
Every day in Holy Child Primary and Nursery School, the entire school community will endeavour to develop every child socially, emotionally, spiritually and academically through the delivery of a holistic curriculum which affords our children every chance and this will be achieved through genuine partnership of home, school, church and community.
Everyone at Holy Child Primary School were today more than a little sad to say goodbye to our favourite and long serving librarian John Campbell. John has been a valuable member of the Creggan community for 45 years and will be solely missed by all. Our P7 children accompanied by Mrs Cullen presented John with cards and gifts from all the children today as well as his very own '2021 Leaver' hoodie.
We are delighted to announce that we have obtained the Eco Schools Green Flag. The Eco Schools Programme is the world's largest Environmental Education programme. The Green Flag is the highest award given to schools and symbolises excellence in environmental activity. We want to congratulate everyone for their hard work, especially the children in our Eco Committee.
Holy Child Pupil Council meet regularly to discuss school issues. Each class within the school elect representatives who then provide a voice for their classmates at the full school council meetings. We meet up with Ebrington PS school council to discuss relevant issues. Keep an eye to this section on the website for photographs and information of our up to date work.
Holy Child Nursery Unit is connected to the main school building and is very much an integral part of school life at Holy Child Primary. We share the same core values in line with our Catholic ethos and celebrate our school motto of "Every Child, Every Chance, Every Day".
The Nursery children avail of many opportunities to visit and interact with children and staff in the main school, which is paramount to our successful transition programme when preparing the children for Primary 1.The Nursery Unit has two purpose built classrooms and offers 52 full time places. While the classes are separate, we enjoy a shared learning experience by making use of our shared foyer and expansive outdoor area.
