Services
Our Philosophy here at First Steps Nursery focuses on incorporating the Early Years Foundation Stage, alongside a child centred approach to learning. We aim to create a welcoming, calm and nurturing environment in which the children have the freedom to learn, play and explore. Provide excellence in care for children age between 3 months and 5 years by ensuring that standards set throughout the establishment are always at the highest level.
Acorns We call this room 'Acorns' because this is where the seeds are planted for our children to grow and prosper. Our Acorns room is a large, beautiful space packed with opportunities to explore and investigate the world. In here, babies from 3 months up to around 2 years old get the opportunity to engage.

Just as the seeds are planted in our Acorns Room, in Oaks our children grow big, strong and independent. Environment is said to be the third teacher in early years development; we have embraced this thought and designed Oaks room to stimulate and challenge young minds as well as just being great fun.
We have a lovely garden located at the front of the nursery which is accessible for all children. The positing of the garden allows easy free-flow opportunities for the children to play outside as they wish. The garden has different areas for the children to explore and use their imagination. We have a digging area, water station, book corner and much more.

First Steps is an excellent nursery. When looking for somewhere for my Son I visited many nurseries and this one definitely stood out. The staff are lovely and the nursery has a very warm and welcoming feeling. My baby boy has settled in really well and I am very pleased with the care and attention he receives.

We've been using this nursery on and off for 20 years. Our oldest is 22, and our youngest less than 2. We look around to choose the best nursery each time it is needed, and are horrified at some of the alternatives and always come back to First Steps. Teh nursery has changed and developed over the years but always manages to have a good 'vibe' - somewhere I am always happy to leave my little ones!
Mother of the children - I was very anxious about leaving my youngest baby when I returned to work after a year off, the staff at First steps we're fabulous, supportive and always there to take my call

Our daughter started going to nursery just after being discharged from hospital. She suffered from a severe condition, which did not enable her to sleep and eat normally. The staff were very proactive and extremely attentive to our daughter's needs and continue to do so, even though her condition has (luckily) completely subsided. Whenever we want to discuss an issue (i.e. a change in her routine, diet requirements, or a new learning discovery), they are willing to listen, advice and agree on a shared course of action. the nursery nurses work closely with the cook and the manager and you can feel

First Steps is a brilliant nursery. My son has been attending for almost a year and he loves it. He has been learning so much since he started and he only goes twice a week. He is always so excited the morning before he is due in. Me and my husband are so happy with his progress. Just recently Little Kickers have been visiting and he is so excited to tell me about the goals he has scored. He also loves the food and usually has seconds! I could not recommend them anymore highly. I will also be sending my daughter there :)
