At Londonderry P.S. we have a proud and rich tradition of academic excellence, strong pastoral support and an extensive range of extra-curricular provision and after school clubs. Our school ethos is "Educating, encouraging, caring" and we pride ourselves on the supportive, family atmosphere we have created.
We provide a safe, caring environment and endeavour to instil a love of learning whilst striving to create lifelong learners. Every child, regardless of their ability, will be able to look back on how s/he has participated in the life of the school and how s/he made a valuable and valued positive contribution.

Londonderry Primary School was opened in 1969 and is set in a large site, surrounded by grass play areas on the Glenbrook Road, Newtownards. Over the past 10 years there have been significant extensions made to the school building with a new foundation corridor being completed in 2013 and a new reception, two new P4 classrooms and a brand new computer suite being completed in 2014.

Londonderry Primary School would like to thank all of our parents but especially our children and our Eco Team for achieving Green Flag status in May. Our work does not stop there. We must maintain our flag so we need to work even harder this year to keep our school as Eco Friendly as possible. We have elected our new Eco Team for 2016-2017.
In 1987 the school's P. T. A. was officially formed, although prior to this an association was in existence - though less formal. As a parent with a child at Londonderry you are automatically a member and there is no charge for membership. Parents and teachers form a partnership for the benefit of every child in school.
Our school council is made up of a group of 16 pupils from P4 - P7. These pupils are voted onto the school council by their classmates, some classes and pupils even running their own election campaigns! Throughout the year they meet with Mr Adams to discuss and share ideas in an attempt to make our school even better!
