Ryhill Junior, Infant and Nursery School is a welcoming, friendly and supportive school, which places the learners at the heart of everything we do. We aim to provide a high quality education within a caring environment which will help them to succeed and grow. Through our engaging curriculum, we ensure that children can foster a passion for learning and curiosity that will help to develop high aspirations and a lifetime of memories.

Services
Please enter the school through the large playground doors (No admission after 8:30 a.m.). We ensure we provide a range of learning opportunities to promote the knowledge, skills and understanding of our young pupils and aim to raise their aspirations and develop a love of learning. Ryhill School is part of the Children's University project.
At Ryhill Junior Infant and Nursery School we believe that everyone's voice deserves to be heard. The voice of the children plays an integral part in shaping our school and curriculum and we encourage all children to share their thoughts and opinions whilst playing an active role in the decisions that affect their learning and well-being.
Each week, we celebrate the achievements of our pupils. Pupils are nominated by their class teacher to receive a Headteacher's Award, which is presented to them during Celebration Assembly. Sometimes a Headteacher Award will be given to a group of children or the entire class where appropriate.

We aim to celebrate the individual achievements and successes of each pupil which can be academic, sporting or, for example, perseverance, being a good friend, or coming into school each day with a smile on your face!Often, our children are chosen for showing our key skills such as showing good teamwork skills, aiming high or being a great listener.
The Governing Body works alongside the Head Teacher and the staff to determine the aims and strategic direction of the school. It monitors the school's performance across a number of areas, primarily academic progress and achievement of pupils. The full Governing Body meets six times per school year with additional regular meetings of Committees such as Standards, Resources and Performance Management.
Ryhill Junior, Infant and Nursery School is an average-sized one form entry school, which offers 30 places in each year group. The school has a 26 place nursery. This means that a maximum of 52 part-time children can be admitted. Wakefield Local Authority are the admissions authority for the school.
