Trowse Primary School was started in 1870 by the Colman family in order to accommodate the educational needs of the workers' children. Today, we are a popular, successful and friendly primary school for children aged between 4 and 11 years. Our ethos is one of a calm learning environment where children are challenged and supported to be the best they can be.
Although Trowse is located less than a mile from the city of Norwich, we are part of a beautiful village community with plenty of countryside surrounding us. The village has a 'common' which is used lots by families. We also have facilities like Norfolk Snowsports and Whitlingham Adventure on our doorstep- which we use!

Trowse Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We have policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection Policy which can be viewed in the policies section on our website.
Our vision is to enable children to be successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens. It is our aim to raise standards by promoting a school ethos which is underpinned by core values. These values support the development of the whole child as stated in our vision within a calm, caring, trusting, happy and purposeful school atmosphere.
The school curriculum comprises all learning and other experiences that each school plans for its pupils. The National Curriculum is an important element of the school curriculum. Below is the INTENT of our school curriculum, as decided by the staff and governors, to achieve the overall vision. Instil in children a positive disposition to learning - trying hard and learning are cool!.
This information is intended to provide clarity and transparency to pupils and parents or carers about what to expect from remote education where national or local restrictions require children to stay at home where possible. All children should now be back at school. Should there be a return to a local or national lockdown, learning would continue again using Seesaw.
