Stoke Holy Cross Primary is a happy, creative, welcoming and "Good" (OFSTED 2019) primary school and I am very pleased to be the Head Teacher. The school is situated in the village of Stoke Holy Cross, some four miles south of Norwich and serves the children and families from the village itself, Dunston, Caistor St Edmund, Upper Stoke Holy Cross and Shotesham.
Stoke Holy Cross Primary School aims to support all its pupils and staff in reaching their full potential within the context of the 21st century. The school provides a welcoming, caring ethos, with staff and pupils working in full partnership with parents, governors, other schools and the wider community.
Children in the Early Years (Reception) follow the requirements of 'Early Years Foundation Stage Framework'. At Stoke Holy Cross Primary School we follow the requirements of both of the above. Our planning uses cross curricular topics (eg a topic such as 'Stone Age, Bone Age' includes content drawn from History, Geography, Art and Music) alongside discrete subject teaching.
The school's governors are a group of volunteers including parents, staff and members of the local community. We meet once or twice a term and work closely with the Headteacher to support the school. The Governing board ensures clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction, and robust accountability, oversight and assurance for educational and financial performance of our School.
Parent View gives you the chance to tell Ofsted what you think about your child's school, from the quality of teaching to dealing with bullying and poor behaviour. The survey can be completed at any time; you don't have to wait until the school is being inspected. Ofsted will use the information you provide when making decisions about which schools to inspect and when.
