Nestled within the rolling Chiltern Hills near Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire, is the beautiful village of Hardwick. At its heart, stands the beautiful 17th Century Grade II listed country Buckinghamshire pub and restaurant, 'The Bell' at Hardwick. The Bell is a welcoming, picturesque village freehouse full of rural charm and rustic character.
The pub offers wonderful locally sourced and freshly prepared food, served up alongside locally brewed cask ales. Today the Bell is a hub for the community offering a family friendly atmosphere, roaring log fires in winter, and a warm welcome for dogs and muddy boots in the bar. In the warmer months, we have plenty of seating in the sun or at shaded tables in our rose garden, or on our patio.

A beautiful, classic country pub! The staff are friendly and attentive, and the food was sublime. Cannot recommend enough! In fact I might go back tomorrow to try another of the chefs dishes!
*update* I went back for dinner that evening and had the Antipasti and Lamb Rump witch were both delicious!
Then on the Friday evening I took a friend and we had a lovely evening.

Where do I begin ?.....
We as a group of friends go out once a month to have a Sunday Lunch in and around the Aylesbury area. It was my turn to choose the venue this week & after reading the reviews, booked us into The Bell.
On arrival, after finding our table we sat in a tight corner next to the bar not really suitable for a table for 6 and waited for our server. We sat & we sat....after 15 minutes we were yet to order a drink let alone our meals.
After 50 minutes our meals arrived and although the meals were ok in regards to taste, they were all only luke warm at best.

Loving the new menu. In the middle of enjoying the homemade linguini and the sole with ratatouille and crushed potatoes...Looking forward to the new Artisan Organic wines from Italy and the arrival of the Coravin so we can all try these sumptuous wines by the glass. The sun drenched patio is such a lovely area for sitting outside in the sun.
