To provide excellent, inclusive early education (3 - 7ys) through creative, playful learning experiences. We use our deep understanding of how young children learn to inform our practice and provision. Inclusion: We welcome and embrace the opportunity to teach all children irrespective of race, gender, disability, medical or other needs.

Diversity and differences will be valued, respected and celebrated by all and they will contribute to the richness of our school life and learning. We provide a child-centred education in which all children make progress and achieve. Nurture: We work in partnership with families to create a welcoming, safe, caring and happy school.
Services
Central Street Infant & Nursery School is located in the centre of Hebden Bridge, a former mill town in the heart of the Pennines. The current school was built in 1984, is easily accessible to all learners and benefits from ample playgrounds and gardens. Central Street is part of a vibrant and creative community.
Central Street Infant and Nursery School and Stubbings Infant School are joined together in a Federation. This means that they share school leadership and a single Governing Body. Governors are responsible for the quality of education our children receive at both schools. It is not our role to manage the schools.
Central Street provides the highest standard of care for your child before and after school. We offer a safe and friendly environment where children can relax, play and socialise before or after a busy school day. Breakfast Club starts at 7.30 am. Children are provided with a choice of cereals, toast, yoghurt and fresh fruit with fruit juice, water, milk or hot chocolate.
At Central Street, we host an ASD resourced provision for Reception and Key Stage 1 pupils. The provision offers an intensive, autistic specific programme with opportunities for age appropriate inclusion to prepare children with ASD to be successful learners in mainstream education. The provision has places for 6 pupils at any one time.
The school is adept at preparing for and clearing up flooding and we always endeavour to minimise impact on the children and families. As part of our emergency planning within school we have written a flood plan to provide a broad guideline should we be faced with flooding in the future. We have also received some useful documents from the Local Authority which are on here to support with flooding.
