Roman Road Primary School
The children in school this week built on the skills they had learnt using clay last week and made some lovely authentic Roman brooches. They used a variety of skills. Today, after learning about and designing Roman brooches Year 4 started practicing the different techniques needed to make a brooch.

This included rolling, kneading, . This has been a busy week in Year 1, after learning about 2D shapes we moved on to 3D shapes and studied their properties. The children have also been looking at Tudor. Our new topic in Year 1 is The Great Fire of London! The children are really enjoying learning all about the events that led up to and followed one of the greatest.

Please read this letter from the Gateshead Director of Public Health which refers to the last week of term. These are links from our Home Activities section that are for pages which give ideas where your child doesn't have to interact by using a laptop or tablet. A person can just read the ideas or look at the drawings from your phone.
Hello and a very big Roman Road welcome to our website. In here you will discover the learning experiences enjoyed by our children and share in the exciting events and fun happenings which have taken place in and around our school. You will meet children, staff and Governors, get to know our school council, see our playground buddies and read about our successes.
Over the sixteen months, there will be a lot of building and demolition work going on as our new school is built and the old buildings are knocked down. This blog page will show how the progress is going on. A photograph taken inside what will be the year 4 classroom showing some cupboards and the sink that have been installed.
Parents are informed on a regular basis about their child's attendance level. Where attendance falls below the expected level, the Home School Liaison Officer and the Governing Body, in conjunction with the Education Welfare Service, take steps to support parents to improve attendance. Why is it important for children to attend school?
Come to Thinkuknow to find the latest information on the sites you like to visit, mobiles and new technology. If you look after young people there's an area for you too - with resources you can use in the classroom or at home. Most importantly, there's also a place which anyone can use to report if they feel uncomfortable or worried about someone they are chatting to online.

Regret the day i ever put my boy in this school! He's went from happy, bubbly lad with a "can't wait to get to school" attitude to a downtrodden miserable unhappy laddy, their attitude towards bullying is all just lip service, how can a child report to a headteacher thats never available? The year 6 teacher cannot control her class and in turn takes its out on all the other pupils. I wouldn't even send my dog to this school let alone any of my other children.
