Holystone Primary School
Whether you are already a member of our wider learning community or a new or prospective member, we hope you will find the information contained here useful. Holystone Primary is a Local Authority Maintained Community School so the admissions process for places in Reception up to Year 6 are managed by North Tyneside Council.

Further information about applying for a place can be found in our Key Information section. Year 6 completed an engineering challenge to design and build a working fairground ride using a motor. We had a fantastic couple of days completing the tasks sent to us by Westfield School.

I would like to welcome you to Holystone Primary School. I am very proud to be Headteacher of such a vibrant and popular school. In the last 20 years the school has grown from a small village first school to a large, successful and over-subscribed two-form entry primary school.

Our school motto "together we enjoy, discover and learn" encapsulates our approach to learning and we have recently reviewed our school vision which has led to the introduction of four core values which we try to promote across all of our work - Independence, Resilience, Respect and Community Spirit.I hope you find the website informative.
At Holystone Primary School we provide a welcoming, positive and safe environment in which children can develop a love of learning and an everlasting thirst for knowledge. Working together as a whole school community, it is our vision that children become self-motivated, confident individuals who strive to achieve their hopes and dreams.
In 2019, our School Council chose four core values that they felt epitomised the Holystone School Vision. They are Respect, Community Spirit, Resilience and Independence. With the help of a local artist we brought the four core values to life with our for characters - Buzzbee (Respect), Clarence (Community Spirit), Lucky (Resilience), Indianta (Independence).
Our curriculum is designed to meet the high expectations of children, staff and parents. Holystone is an area with a rich mining history. It is surrounded by high levels of new development but also beautiful open spaces. As such, we hope to use our environment to support our children's sense of community, both at local level and globally.
At Holystone, we believe that language and literacy is fundamental to the overall development of our children and their access to the curriculum in all its aspects. We aim to deliver quality teaching of spoken language, reading, writing and vocabulary as integral aspects of the teaching of every subject.
