The first mention of Sparth House as a dwelling dates back to 1455, with the main house being built in 1740. Nearly 600 years of history and family surrounds the building that we now know as Sparth House. Many families have been in ownership of Sparth House through the years. One of the most interesting must be the Cunliffe Family, notably Robert Cunliffe and his daughter Jennet Cunliffe.
Sparth House can host a large variety of events from corporate meetings and business dinners to family celebrations, anniversaries and birthday parties. At Sparth House we can help you host the perfect, thoughtful and discreet funeral wake for your loved one. We offer numerous quiet and calm spaces throughout the house and gardens for you and your guests to take the time to reflect and remember your loved one together.
We love to design unique and creative weddings that are perfectly tailored to the happy couple. Our wedding team can help from the initial ideas through to execution. Sparth House is in an ideal location being only 5 minutes from junction 7 on the M65 motorway. We are located less than 40 minutes from Manchester, Liverpool and Blackpool airports.
We strive to source the finest ingredients from regional suppliers. From our local farm butcher, award winning British cheese, to ensuring almost all of our vegetables are grown in Lancashire, we love to support local producers and offer seasonal food. Our menus are inspired by traditional dishes and influenced by world cuisine.

Stayed overnight for a wedding, it is beautiful, gorgeous venue to stay at. Very friendly staff, couldn't do enough for you. Provided excellent meals, and the most amazing service. Rooms were clean and spacious, very comfortable. Would recommend to anyone who wants to celebrate any special moment in their lives. Felt so very welcome, and as if staying with very good friends/family.

My daughter had her wedding at this wonderful venue which was not only a beautiful setting for a wedding but the staff made the day absolutely fantastic by organising everything perfectly without anyone even spotting it. Thanks not only to Olivia and Katie but the whole staff for their friendly helpful and professional attitude. The food was delicious and the lemon posset was outstanding. I would recommend this to anyone

A hidden gem. Perfect wedding venue. The friendly and helpful staff are a joy to work with. How many times have you, as a photographer, cringed on the few times they offer to help with things like the confetti shot? Worry not, these girls know exactly what they are doing. A photographer's paradise, lots of different places to shoot outside, some with natural shade some open.
The freshly prepared food efficiently served was amazing, salmon 'to die for', beef cooked to perfection, just melted on the tongue, light and fluffy cheesecake.
