Reservations for table of 2 are particularly limited but we do have more availability for tables of 4+. Restaurant Twenty-Two first opened its doors 40 years ago and is now under the ownership of partners Sam Carter and Alex Olivier. The lovingly restored Victorian townhouse backs onto the River Cam and Jesus Green and is home to exciting, modern British dining. The menu changes often depending on what seasonal produce our Cambridgeshire partners have delivered.
Services
The restaurant occupies a quaint Victorian heritage house, with stained glass windows nestled into its brickwork that date back to 1892. Located in a historic corner of Cambridge, just off the River Cam on Jesus Green, the restaurant is in the perfect location for a leisurely lunch after a stroll (or punt!) alongthe river.

Fantastic. Our first visit in a few years and definitely didn't disappoint. Food was excellent without being over-fussy. Wine flight was well-matched but still took in some gems you wouldn't have picked off the list. The soft drink flight is a great idea but was the one slight sub-par element as several.of the choices were love/loathe.

Amazing. Incredible tasting menu, brilliant and knowledgeable staff, wonderful atmosphere. Non-alcoholic flight of drinks was great - never seen that on a tasting menu before and the thought which had gone into it was superb. The flight of wines looked pretty good too - the rest of our party loved it. If I could, I'd eat here all the time.

The most incredible meal I have ever had! SERIOUSLY! I don't even know where to start to describe it. From the first bite to the last each and every dish was bursting with harmonious flavour. I ate ingredients that I would normally despise and even heard a grown man from another table ask for alterations because he 'didn't like' certain ingredients.. he truly missed out!
The service is 5 star, all staff were amazing and super helpful.
Whatever the occasion, book the dam table and eat here because there is no way you will regret it.

We really enjoyed the lunchtime full tasting menu at Restaurant 22.
Everything we ate was delicious, many different tastes, textures & even temperature’s of food in each mouthful. Each morsel was intricately presented & explained in detail by the helpful and attentive staff.
I pictured a lot of things, but forgot some because I was so enticed by their appearance & description they got eaten before I remembered.😋
They had even written a card for my mum, who’s birthday we were celebrating, and brought out a little happy birthday treat with candle.
A really memorable experience!

What a gem! We had an absolutely outstanding tasting menu experience, with not a single item disappointing in the slightest. The food is meticulously presented, tastes are composed to perfection, and you get to savour a variety of dishes which come together to form a coherent, satisfying whole meal. I love the concept of a pre-dessert too :-) Completely on par with some Michelin 🌟🌟 places we visited before. Plan ahead about 3 months to eat here, but it is soooo worth booking ahead!

So I went to Restaurant 22 not really knowing what to expect. I had heard good things mostly, but few people had actually been. Their menu changes monthly to reflect local and seasonal ingredients, I had the July menu.

We started with gazpacho served in shot glasses, accompanied by one baked bread - a selection of rosemary bread, Guinness bread (which tasted a lot like parkin), and some other fruit bread. I ordered the pan fried pigeon breast for starter. It arrived nicely rare and fairly well presented. There was a sorbet next - watermelon, which was very simple, but effective in cleansing the

This is British food meets fine dining. Excellent stuff. I had an amazing appetizer, and an amazing entree of roast beef that was phenomenal. But the dessert! Meringue, black pepper, rose syrup, and berries. There's a good selection of wines and ales here.
