In Reception, our doors open from 8.30 a.m. until 9a.m to allow for a smooth start to the day and to allow for social distancing. We learn through play, both indoor and outdoor and follow the Early Years curriculum with its 7 areas of learning: Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Communication and Language, Mathematics, Literacy, Understanding of the World and Expressive Arts and Design.
Welcome to Year 1, a very special year as your child starts the next stage of their learning. Leaving the Early Years Foundation Stage behind them, they are now following the National Curriculum which means that lessons become a little more formal and you will notice changes in the way your child is learning.
Your child is in Year 4. This is a year where we nurture and encourage the feelings of independent thinking, learning and decision making. Children now already know the routines for the Juniors; they have already realised that they have to do homework; they already understand that they are expected to learn a lot in a year; they can dress themselves (mostly!).
