Hardcopies of all policies and reports found on this website are available on request at the school office, or download here. Our telephone lines are open from 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday, excluding school holidays. Maidwell School follows the defined process that is set by the Northants Local Authority.
From time to time, we have positions for teachers or support staff at Maidwell Primary School. If a vacancy exists, download the ZIP file and open the contents on your local hard drive. A member of staff is in attendance on the playground from 08:50am each morning and parents are encouraged to leave their children in the care of the staff member in order to allieviate parking conjestion. Parking is restricted to the road passing the school. The images below show the amount of vehicle space that is available adjacent to the school playground.
We believe that the purpose of assessment is to raise standards, not merely to measure them. Promoting and improving children's learning is a principal aim of Maidwell Primary School, and staff are continually assessing children's learning, using a variety of techniques and tools, from simple questioning to more formal written tests.
We embraced Talk for Writing fully in 2012 and we are now in our seventh year of being immersed in the process. We are also a Storytelling School and this approach, together with that of Talk for Writing, enables our children to build vocabulary, sentence patterns and an understanding of how language works.
