Pitsford is a village and civil parish with a population of around 700 people in the Daventry District of county of Northamptonshire. The village today is mainly made up of established buildings with amenities including a pub, village hall, sports field and pavilion.
The population of the school is a varied composition drawn from the village and surrounding rural area and villages, with around half of our children coming from outside of our catchment. Before the school was built, children were taught at the rectory which has since been demolished. The current site includes the original building, playground areas, school garden and a Foundation Stage outdoor area.

Services
Standards of achievement and progress are measured very closely across the school and where additional support is needed proven schemes are put in place to ensure every child achieves their potential and beyond. The staff and Governors of the school are constantly striving to raise the academic achievement of all pupils.
Our Governors serve across two schools as part of the Walgrave and Pitsford Primary Schools Federation. We have several working parties or committees in addition to the 'Full Governing Body' these include Finance and Personnel, Headteacher Performance Management and Standards and Progress. Any vacancies in the Governing body are advertised locally and applications are invited from members of the community as well as parents.
We use many different staff to support learning at Pitsford Primary School and the Governors and I are committed to applying the maximum funding possible into putting people in to school to work directly with children. However, some of the terms and different levels of Learning Support staff can be confusing!
At Pitsford, the progress of all children is continuously monitored and assessed by class teachers. This is through both formative and summative assessment (daily, weekly and termly assessment). Our expert team of teachers are constantly reflecting upon 'Where the children are' and 'How we can meet their needs.'
