Beechwood Primary School
Thank you for taking the time to view our website, we hope you find it both useful and informative. If you require further information or wish to arrange a visit to the school then please do not hesitate to contact the school office. This comes at a hugely exciting time when Beechwood has also formally become part of Frays Multi Academy Trust.

I am looking forward to working in partnership with Frays to ensure we provide all the children at Beechwood with the very best learning and school experience, and start to their journey in education.' Please contact the school office on: 0118 9695976 or email: office-beechwood@fraysacdemytrust.org if you have any questions.
Services
Beechwood Primary School was build in 1959 on a large open site and serves the Woodley community. Originally separate, the infant and junior schools were combined to form the new primary school in 1988. We now share the site with the Ambleside centre, which is convenient for parents with younger siblings.
Children are encouraged to be happy, resilient, confident, independent, ambitious and well-rounded learners who are self-aware and always striving to develop and grow. They are brave in their learning, learn by their mistakes, take risks and embrace challenge. Learning fosters curiosity, develops key life skills, promotes enquiring minds and encourages a love of learning.
Having finally joined Frays Multi Academy Trust we can all now look forward positively to building on the improvements already made. I am equally pleased that the members of the IEB and Shadow Governing Body have agreed to continue in their roles but as 'Local Governors' at Beechwood which will provide continuity so that we can continue with our contribution to the improvement journey at Beechwood.
The Department for Education state that there is a need "to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs." The government set out its definition of British values in the 2011 Prevent Strategy and these values were reiterated by the Prime Minister in 2014.
School starts at 8.45am (children who are not in class at this time are recorded late in the register). Children from year 1 upwards are actively encouraged to come into school by themselves from the school gate. Children in the Foundation Stage may be escorted by their parents/guardians to their classroom.
