I am very proud to be the Head teacher of Springfield Primary school. At Springfield my staff and I believe that everyone who is part of our community is special. We strive to provide a caring and stimulating environment to lay the foundations for all our children to take an active part in adult life, promoting attitudes of mutual respect and responsibility.

We want all our children to receive an education of the highest quality to develop to their full potential not only intellectually, but also creatively, spiritually and morally. Springfield is a fully inclusive school. Staff are dedicated and determined to raise the standards of achievement for all children.
Services
Opened in 1969 (with just 38 children on roll at that time), Springfield Primary has grown and developed into a thriving school with a reputation for excellence. We currently have 334 pupils on roll, aged between 3 and 11 years of age. Our aim is to encourage curiosity, interest and an enquiring mind, thereby stimulating a lifelong love of learning.
At Springfield Primary School we are committed to ensuring our children achieve highly and fulfil their potential through the promotion of high standards and expectations in all we do and provide. At Springfield Primary children will experience a rich, balanced and exciting curriculum designed to meet their academic, cultural and social needs.
The DfE have recently reinforced the need "to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs." The government set out its definition of British values in the 2011 Prevent Strategy, and these values were reiterated in 2014.
Governors are ordinary people who have an interest in the education of children and are prepared to volunteer to work alongside Headteacher and school staff to improve standards and learning experience for all the children at Springfield. There are over 300,000 school governors in England serving more than 30,000 schools and they form the largest volunteer force in the country.
The pupil admission number or (PAN) is the number of new pupils that a school can admit into its reception classes each year. At Springfield this number is 42. This was set by the Local authority many years ago and has not changed since. However, there are times when more children are admitted into a year group usually due to a request by the Local Authority or at the Head teacher's discretion.
