South Lake Primary School
South Lake Primary School is a vibrant, busy learning community with high expectations and a nurturing ethos. Our children are our best ambassadors for our outstanding school; come and visit us and we will show you what a wonderful place this is. The children are proud to be part of South Lake Primary School and I am just as proud to be their Headteacher.
Services
At South Lake Primary School we are committed to equity and justice. We aim for every pupil to fulfil their potential, no matter what their needs. Our school is committed to anti-discriminatory practice to promote equality of opportunity and we value the diversity of our children, families and staff.
We have a 52-place Nursery, with its own admissions procedure. We take children the term after their third birthday. Our Nursery is a lively, happy place where we support the children to learn through the Early Years Curriculum. We nurture our children in our well-resourced provision, adapting the curriculum to suit their needs and interests.
Social networking sites and apps allow children to be incredibly creative online, keep in touch with friends and express themselves using a whole range of different media and applications such as video, photos, music, and chat. They offer fantastic opportunities for communication and social connections.
Everyone who works at South Lake School is responsible for the safeguarding of the children. We are obliged to act on any concerns. Mrs C Stobie and Miss J Stickley are also trained Designated Officers and are the Deputy Safeguarding officers for South Lake School.

If you have any concerns about a child or family and you think that the Safeguarding Designated Officer ought to know, you can come in and see one of us personally or call and ask to speak to one of us at the school. Our staff are trained using the document 'Keeping Children Safe in Education', a copy of which can be see below.
We teach the children to be kind to each other, in their words and in their actions. We also teach them, through PSHE lessons and circle times, what bullying looks like and who to go to in school for help if they are unhappy. The Anti-Bullying Alliance defines bullying as :the repetitive, intentional hurting of one person or group by another person or group, where the relationship involves an imbalance of power.
