We know that choosing the best care home or retirement home is an important choice to make. When you choose us you can be confident in the knowledge that the very high standards we set at Ivy Lodge Retirement Home are constantly maintained, creating a safe, happy, clean and comfortable environment to live in.

We are a family run home and our priority is to maintain a home that we would be happy for our own parents to stay in. We want everyone that stays here to be healthy and happy so it's important to us to deliver 'outstanding' physical and spiritual care and provide a sense of independence. We offer all the personal care our elderly residents need, to stay healthy and continue to enjoy a good quality of life.
Services
Ivy Lodge is a place where residents feel they are at home not in a home. This is at the heart of everything we do here and it is achieved through ensuring we maintain a clean, well decorated, secure and safe environment filled with staff that treat all our residents with dignity and respect, compassion and openness.
We would love for you to come and meet us in person, in the meantime here's a little bit more about some of the management team! Lisa has worked in the care sector since leaving school. She had planned to be a nurse and so did some volunteering working with older people which she found so rewarding, she decided she would be more suited to a career in social care instead.
We would love to hear from you if you have any questions about Ivy Lodge Retirement Home or if you'd like to arrange a visit. We would also like to keep in touch occasionally by email about news and events, please check the box if you are happy to receive these communications. You can unsubscribe at any time.
At Ivy Lodge we want our residents and their family members to be confident that day-in-day-out we strive to offer high quality residential care and exceptionally clean and well maintained facilities. Our residential care is centred around assisting frail residents to continue to live a happy and independent life with the support and care they need when they need it.
We recently had the home refurbished so that it is not only safe, but provides a lovely comfortable and cosy place for our elderly residents to enjoy a "home from home" life. Of our 33 bedrooms, 28 are en-suite and just 10 are on the first floor which is accessed via a lift.

We like to encourage residents to decorate their bedroom with a favourite chair and personal belongings, helping in any way we can to make it a place they can truly be happy in.For their health benefits and to maintain a sense of independence, we encourage residents to move freely around the house.

My mother has been a resident at Ivy Lodge for about a year, and describes it as ‘ the best there is’.
From the very start she was made to feel welcomed, and nothing was too much trouble.
Her own en suite bedroom is bright, well decorated and she is able to make it her own by hanging familiar photographs to remind her of the family.
Downstairs the seating areas are comfortable and stylish, and once again beautifully decorated. The home has a clean bright atmosphere.
Ivy Lodge has an in house chef and the food is described by my mother as varied and tasty.
All the staff are well trained

Ivy Lodge is an incredible place and since my Mum became a resident in October it has totally changed my perspective on Retirement/Care Homes!!
It’s a happy place, it really is and it’s a lovely place to visit as well as reside. It’s immaculate and clean and very tastefully furnished both in the communal areas and the rooms.
Most of all it’s the whole Team that makes it such a great place, they all go that extra mile and nothing is too much trouble either with any help I need or taking great care of my Mum.
Lockdown has been a hard time all round and when it started I worried so much

My mum decided she need to go into a home about 6 years ago and we visited several. Ivy Lodge seemed clean and well run so we made the choice and we have never regretted it. Mum's condition has deteriorated over time and the staff have been superb in looking after her, they are always cheerful and kind. Since the new challenge of Coronavirus arrived the home has been run with the safety of residents as the foremost consideration, the rules are strictly applied but only because that's the right thing to do.

I have worked at Ivy lodge for nearly 10 years and have loved every minute of being part of such a lovely team. We all aim to give the highest standards of care and our residents and their families are our priority. Ivy lodge is a home from home where we have many activities including baking, flower arranging, arts and crafts, cards and board games, regular entertainment and regular trips to local attractions plus much more.

My mother in law has been in Ivy Lodge for 10 months now and they have been amazing with her particularly during lockdown. She has enjoyed a wide variety of activities organised in house and has been able to continue having her hair done every week by the staff. She is desperate to be able to hug her family and play with her granddaughter but until it is safe this is not allowed, this is the reason all staff and residents have been free from the virus. They have however, erected a gazebo in the garden with flowers around it and with a separation screen for visits where you can speak freely and

I am a carer at Ivy lodge, I must say what a happy and enjoyable place to work. As well as it being a family run home it’s a family environment for both staff and residents. I look forward to going to work.

Mam moved into Ivy Lodge 14 months ago and she’s always telling us how all the staff are so kind and very hard working, and we wholeheartedly agree.
As soon as you enter the building you notice a friendly, ‘homely’ atmosphere, so different from the ‘institution’ feeling I’ve experienced on visiting other care homes.
A full programme of wide ranging activities, visiting entertainers and trips out has obviously been suspended, but all staff have gone above and beyond in organising and participating in in-house events ranging from their own choir to a beach party, as illustrated on Facebook

My Aunt has been in Ivy Lodge for4 months and thinks everyone is lovely. We have not been able to go in since she became a resident due to lockdown, however we have been kept fully informed and in touch with her throughout this time. Nothing is to much trouble and now we have been able to socially distance visit outside. There are lots of activities and every body is kind and helpful. We fully recommend this family run home.
