Here in our store in Harborne, Birmingham, we take pride in looking after your eye care with 40 minute eye consultations and exclusive frames delivered by our expert staff, we guarantee to find just the thing for you. We have given you one of the most exclusive opticians stores in the West Midlands, located on the, historic, Harborne High Street.
At Brittains, we offer everything from children's testing, children's spectacles and contact lenses to bespoke hand-made spectacles and everything in between. Our independent and partner-owned status means that we have a very consistent optometrist and dispensing staff. In fact between us we have over 80 years of experience!
As Lockdown 2.0 begins we are grateful to confirm that we are an essential business so we can stay open through out. As many of you have already experienced we are following social distancing, sanitising all products and contact points, supported by PPE. We are also operating longer appointment times and appointment only to keep people in store to a minimum.
I have been very impressed with the quality of service from Brittain Opticians. I have previously been to other opticians, but I can honestly say that I have never received such a high quality of service, they really do care what suits you best as an individual.
I have very recently started wearing contact lenses, I have been very impressed with the extensive knowledge of what lenses are available, as well as what would best suit my budget and life style.I couldn't fault my experience with Brittains and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to my family and friends.

Fantastic Covid secure appointment with all protocols. Great service at front of shop and advice on frames & lenses. Eye test with Matt was second to none and being prescribed with my first set of bifocals was a new experience that was explained brilliantly. Glasses were made up and ready and in a few days. Probably the best and most accurate lenses I have ever had. Thanks

The're so, so welcoming and helpful.
They have an amazing range of frames to choose from and I've bought a few pairs from them over the years.
They always give you an honest and experienced opinion whether it's the style of the frame or the lens quality or in some cases the thickness of your lens.
Importantly though, there's never a pressure to buy that you can sometimes experience when you walk into a chain.
I'm a big supporter of local businesses as the experience
