At Cosgrove Village Primary School, we aim to work in partnership with parents and the community to develop confident, responsible, happy, independent, creative and successful young people. We want our children to grow in confidence and develop a sense of self-discipline and self-esteem within a secure and stimulating environment; where there is respect for each other, for the school, for the local community and for the world in which we live.
We actively promote the British Values throughout our school as well as our own school values. Cosgrove Village Primary School values were chosen in consultation with the school council, governors and staff. Children are encouraged to think for themselves and take responsibility for their work and behaviour.

The school council, staff and governors have worked together to create a set of school values. These 8 values were chosen as we all felt they reflected the most important values a child should have knowledge of when they leave our school. Over the academic year staff will teach the children about these values through our curriculum and assemblies.
Cosgrove Village Primary School values the abilities and achievements of all its pupils and is committed to providing for each child, the best possible environment for learning. We are a safe and caring school where children are happy, confident, well-motivated and love to learn. They will be challenged and supported to achieve high standards through a fun and creative curriculum.
The current government is spending over 450 million on improving physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. They are allocating this extra funding directly to schools. This is one of the benefits of the London Olympics. This funding can only be spent on provision for PE and sport in schools.
Safeguarding is very important in our school and therefore we have 4 members of staff trained as Designated Safeguarding Leads. At times we may need to seek advice from outside agencies as to how best to support you and your family. What is early help? Every family goes through challenging times at some point.
At Cosgrove Village Primary School we have designed our curriculum to reflect our school. Our school was set up to serve the local area and is a central part of a very small community. Over the years we have gained a reputation for providing excellent support for children with SEN and additional needs and this means that we attract some children from the surrounding villages and towns.
