For 11 years we have held the philosophy that it is crucial to work in close partnership with parents, and provide a well trained and professional workforce who understand child development and are committed to providing a quality learning experience. This philosophy is reflected in our daily practice, and in the enjoyment and achievement of the children who attend the Nursery.
The aim was to establish high quality childcare in the heart of the city centre. Many of the staff still remain at the nursery and have gone on to have their own children. The nursery has seen many developments over the year including the addition of a sensory studio and the redevelopment of the outdoor area.

Absolutely the best nursery, the staff are all fantastic, hard working and mindful of what a parent needs for their children and themselves. The management give good clear communication and work with you if anything is needed. Inside the nursery is decorated with lots of fun drawings by the children and also pictures of the staff on the doors so you always know who's working in your child's room.
Outside the garden is a real treat for the children with lots of fun and educational things to do. The staff have enough rain suits for all the children so they can go out even when it rains!

Genuinely couldn’t be happier with D&D’s. Staff are incredibly professional yet warm and caring. From the top down decisions have been made day to day, throughout this challenging pandemic period, always with the child’s and families best interests as the priority. I would highly recommend Dukes and Duchesses nursery. I have great comfort knowing my little boy is in great hands each drop off. Many of the team have worked there for many years and create a family environment within the nursery which is lovely.
Each day I receive updates of my child’s activities such as meals, nappy changes and sleeps. We also receive monthly development updates from his key worker which gives us great comfort in the fact he is in great hands and time is being put into his development.
The menu published each quarter is unbelievable. Cultures and different food are introduced

Choosing a nursery for your child to attend full time is stressful and daunting. The second we walked into Dukes and Duchesses for a tour with Liz and Becky we knew it was the right place for our son. In an 18 months that have been far from ordinary, they have created such a lovely space for the children to have some normality, to grow and to flourish. They have made excellent decisions at every turn regarding covid and they have kept the parents informed and up to date the whole time. Searched and trailed many nurseries within the city and none compared to Dukes and Duchesses.
My daughter who started at the age of 2 has now spent a year here and has learned so much not just educational but personally too like how to share and be kind and care for others, all the staff have done an amazing job helping us raise our little girl when we have to work ourselves.
Wouldn’t recommend anyone else if your thinking of putting your little one into nursery.
