We believe that children thrive in an environment where their own interests are valued, encouraged and celebrated. Our caring and experienced team aims to expand on the opportunities and experiences that each child has, whilst providing a secure and supportive environment where they can grow emotionally, socially and creatively.
We aim to guide all of the children to explore, understand and enjoy the world around them, developing new skills and forming close relationships with their peers, and within their wider community.

Services
At Thames Pre-school we aim to build on your child's interests and experiences to provide them with the best possible start in life. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) through a play based and child-led curriculum of activities. We plan adult led activities for each week based on the interests of the children.
We are extremely lucky to have a highly experienced and qualified team of Early Years Practitioners. All staff hold current DBS (police) checks and are qualified with a nationally recognised qualification. We recruit in line with Safer Recruitment principles, and all staff hold up to date safeguarding and paediatric first aid qualifications.
We know that choosing childcare is a really important decision. We want our parents to feel confident and happy with the choice that they have made. Here are a few reasons which may help you to make the decision. However, its always best to arrange a visit, either on one of our open days or just call to arrange a time to pop in.
We really appreciate how hard the staff work to provide such a great range of learning opportunities for the children and respond to their interests / needs. I love reading the tapestry updates and it's great that I can contribute too. My son loves coming to Thames and we feel really lucky that he attends such a great pre-school.
Forest schooling is a process which builds on an individual's instinctive motivation and positive attitude to learning. It allows children to make their own choices, take risks and initiate learning for themselves. Forest schooling allows everyone to have fun and enjoy themselves whilst giving them the opportunity to develop an inquisitive and positive relationship with the natural world.

It is with great sadness that my kids have finished their time at Thames, it has been such a fantastic time for them. The caring staff who go well above, the lovely outdoor setting and the child-led activities are just some of the many highlights. My kids have thrived there, would thoroughly recommend.
