Wanborough Playgroup
Our aim is to provide parents with as much information as possible about who we are and what we do. Playgroup offers pre-school education and development to children before starting primary school. For detailed information about daily life at Playgroup, please visit the 'Daily Routine' section. Wanborough Playgroup has been running since 1975 and is held in the village hall.

Our aim has always been to provide local children with pre-school education and development in a friendly and stimulating environment. We are a Registered Charity, Registered with Ofsted & Registered for Nursery Funding. We accept payment via Childcare vouchers. We run five 3 hour morning sessions a week.
Services
We aim to keep daily life at Playgroup as interesting, inspirational and varied as possible. We encourage visitors to come in and talk about their job or an aspect of life that would be of interest. We have had a recent visit from Diane from Swindon Library Trust. Diane read a lovely story about a bear and gave us lots of information of what we can do at a library.
Wanborough Playgroup is a charity run by a voluntary committee, usually made up of parents. The committee members change annually and are formally elected at the AGM, held in mid-September each year. The constitution requires the committee to have, as a minimum, three main office holders: the Chair, the Treasurer and the Secretary in order to run.
Please note all timings are approximate, during the session the children have lots of child-initiated and teacher-led experiences which may mean timings are changed to accommodate. Children arrive and put their names on the "who is here today" board (self registration). We operate an "open door" policy at this time when parents/carers have the opportunity to talk to staff as well as settle their children.
Playgroup is very conscious of the role it plays in the diets of the children who attend and therefore strives to make snacks healthy and interesting. All dietary needs, such as allergies, are catered for and are clearly displayed on our register which is checked each morning as part of our daily routine.
This term we will focus on each child's interests and build their learning around that. The children have expressed interest in "People who Help us" so we have been exploring different occupations such as: Hairdressers, The Fire Service, Hospitals and the Police by looking at different books and changing our role play and small world areas to reflect these occupations.
