We are a unique and diverse learning community located in Plumstead that provides the best possible support in enabling pupils to achieve their best. We are a school with high aspirations for pupils, their families and the community of Plumstead. We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality learning experiences; we make learning relevant to the lives of our children, which is both practical and engaging.

Pupils and staff are highly motivated and firmly believe in learning together, in partnership with families. Our first priority is that we want the children to feel safe at our school, to understand they will be supported both academically and personally, so they can achieve their very best and be proud of their achievements.
Services
Breakfast Club is available on both sites. It is open to pupils whose parents need to be in work early. The club offers a safe and friendly place for your children to come before school to meet with their friends and have something to eat. The doors are opened at HS 8:00 am - 8:20 am (Monday -Friday) Children are taken by a staff member to the playground for 08:40 am.
Bannockburn School has two sites. Each year group has four classes. Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 attend the High Street site on Plumstead High Street (SE18 1HE). Children in Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6) attend the Manor Way site located on Church Manorway (SE2 0HY). Admission decisions (based on home to school distance) will be made using the main entrance to the High Street site.
At Bannockburn, we have an experienced leadership team who work across both school sites to meet pupils' and parents needs. Should you wish to speak to a member of the leadership team you will find us in the playground before and after school each day. Alternatively, you can make an appointment by calling the school on 020 8854 2169 (Bannockburn - High Street) or 020 8317 5937 (Bannockburn - Manor Way).
All of us serve the governing body because we want to support the school in its development as critical friends. Some, like the parent governors, are directly elected by the parents; some are appointed by the local authority while others are co-opted by the governing body as representatives of the wider community and areas of expertise.
At Bannockburn Primary School we ensure that through our school vision, values, rules, curriculum and teaching we promote tolerance and respect for all cultures, faiths and lifestyles. We value the ethnic backgrounds of all our pupils and families and undertake a variety of events and lessons to celebrate and explore these alongside other cultures in our country.

Bannockburn has long been a supportive community school. The school is proud of its inclusive ethos towards all pupils, regardless of faith, culture or social background. All members of staff work harmoniously towards ensuring pupils are kept safe and feel proud of themselves and their achievements. The school has been recognised by many organisations, both local and national, in recognition of the role it plays within the local community here in Plumstead.

Excellent primary school, children love the school and have a highly rich and broad curriculum. The school boasts lovely and dedicated staff and organises meaningful school trips and communal events.

This is an excellent school where both of my children have flourished. As a teacher myself I can seen how varied and interesting their learning is. The school's homework policy is refreshing and offers a mix of activities, topic-based tasks, visits and so on to complete over the six week term. Children are actively encouraged to complete them on a regular basis during term, with rewards as an incentive. In my experience, this is more meaningful than repetitive weekly tasks that do little to enhance and engage learning.

Both of my children attended Bannockburn Primary School up until last summer when we moved out of London. They thrived at the school and their teachers in their current school have commented on how well they are doing.
Both children had a wonderful introduction to education in KS1 and I am really thankful to their teachers at Bannockburn Primary School for that.
