Farming is in our blood here at Hinchliffe's - after all, we've been doing it for almost a century now - and from a small idea, we've hatched a great business. Our business was established in the 1920s by Allen Hinchliffe, the father of Charles Robert Hinchliffe who still helps around the Netherton farm today.
Drawing on more than 90 years experience of selling the best fresh food from the finest local producers, as farmers ourselves we know what makes for the tastiest produce and we are proud to stock only our fresh, family produced food and produce hand-picked from local people we know and trust.
Our farm shop offers a farm-gate to our own home reared beef, award winning pies, sausages and bacon, from the butchery, freshly baked bread & cakes from our on-site bakery and freshly laid eggs from the farm.We make our own wide range of delicious breads and cakes onsite in our farm shop bakery - baked daily!

We rear our own cattle, lavishing them with love and attention from pasture to plate, using the whole cow regardless of current trends - something that is rare in modern butchery. This means we know exactly what goes into each animal: caring it for it from the day it's born, maximizing its welfare, and feeding and handling it to produce beef with the best flavour and texture before it's butchered on site by our highly-skilled butchers.
Summer is here but the weather is as unpredictable as ever, so we will provide a covered area with heating on the terrace so that you can enjoy a meal as well as barista coffees, afternoon teas, or a cheeky drink from the bar no matter what the weather. Tables under cover are limited so will be reservation only during busy periods so please do book in advance to avoid any disappointment.
When you've a crowd to feed, we can cater for anything from an informal buffet to a gourmet banquet. The Rusty Bull Events offer our classic range of menus, but we specialise in bespoke catering so no event we do is ever the same.
Whether it's an intimate dinner, product or brand launch, press day, wedding, milestone celebration or themed party, our expert team use the best, seasonal ingredients to create innovative and exciting menus and exceptional events.Bowl food is a great way to cater for large gatherings when seating isn't possible.

In my memory, starting from something similar to a shed (sadly destroyed by fire) to a tent to the glorious building it is today. Once upon a time a casual front of house, it is now an upmarket establishment combined with a restaurant and pub. Fantastic views and plenty of woodland to walk around in the area make it a great place to stop. The farm has taken a bit of a backseat in comparison to the new building though. You can actually feed the chickens here... sometimes, if the chickens are out

I visited the new farm shop this morning and left very disappointed. The shop itself is very smart the staff however failed to impress.
We queued to get some pies and were 4th in the queue. There were 2 staff members 1 who was continually at the coffee machine the other making a sandwich for another member of staff. We stood for 15 minutes and left the queue. When we went to pay there was 1 member of staff serving a customer who was still shopping. Had to wait for the customer to return to the till where girl on the till started to checkout her shopping. There were other members of staff in the

Visited the Rusty Bull restaurant with the family. Great food, but they were very busy and despite booking, our table was not ready on arrival. No where to wait in the restaurant....we were more or less told to go away.....so had 15 mins in the farm shop whilst they were ready for us. Food arrived quickly once ordered, but no one came to see if we wanted a dessert.

Stopped at the restaurant for lunch. We had not booked but they accommodated us with a table for 3.
I had the fish and seafood dish in a lobster bisque and it was excellent and very filling. My eldest daughter had the prawn and crayfish sandwich and she was also very pleased. My youngest daughter had the burger but was a little disappointed mainly because of the pretzel bread.
On balance I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will certainly visit again to sample other items on the menu.

Went there for our Christmas do this year, the staff were warm and friendly, decor was tasteful and the food was filling and delicious. There was also ample car parking! The route there was a little hair raising for someone not used to country roads but it was well worth the visit. I'd definitely make the journey again

Was quite busy on arrival but still managed to park in overflow. The shop is clean, well laid out and stocked. Staff are very helpful and friendly, nothing too much trouble. All products and produce is lovely and fresh, the butchers is especially good. I spent £55 but this will do 2 of us 15 meals, so good value and quality, much nicer than supermarket food

The produce is beautiful but I’m not sure I’ll carry on going much, bought some potatoes in the brown paper carriers, almost every potato in there had eyes growing out and were soft, they were old, they don’t go like that if fresh, then this week in my shopping I bought 2 beef tomatoes at 89p each so I thought, when checking receipt when I got home I’d been charged for cherry on the vine tomatoes and charged £3.23!! It seems each time I go there’s something or I’m overcharged as if it’s not expensive enough!!

Arrived on a midweek morning at 11.00am for coffee & a snack with our dog & couldn’t be accommodated as all the outside tables were full & they don’t allow dogs inside, so we left disappointed as we’ve been there several times before with our dog before they enlarged the coffee shop to The Rusty Bull. Other farm shops in the area are very welcoming to people with dogs both inside & out so we won’t be coming back.
