My name is Elspeth Geden and I am very proud to be the Headteacher of Montbelle Primary School. I am very pleased to welcome you to our school website and I hope you find all the information you need. As part of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, the school is situated between New Eltham and Chislehurst.
We are a two-form entry school with a nursery offering morning or afternoon sessions with some full-time places. We enjoy using our spacious grounds; we are extremely fortunate to have two large playgrounds, a field, a Forest School and a wildlife area, all of which are fully incorporated into our exciting curriculum.

Services
The office team consists of three members of staff: Alison Hawkins, Kim Rouse and Jo-Ann Stratton who will be happy to deal with any enquiries you may have either in person, by phone or email. The school is served by good transport links as a means of getting to and from school, the 160, 161, 162 and 314 bus routes all make stops close to our school.
Each week, every member of staff is entitled to Planning, Preparation and Assessment time (PPA). This equates to 10% of their teaching time. At Montbelle, we use this time to give all children a range of different experiences. This includes PE and music led by specialist teachers and extra lessons focused on spelling, punctuation and grammer taught by staff in school.
Our governors are formed from parents, staff, the local community and the Education Authority. I have been a governor at various Greenwich schools at both primary and secondary level since 2000. I worked in Human Resources at Greenwich Council for many years until my retirement in 2013 and until recently lived in Mottingham.
The school are very proud to have been awarded the 'Schools Excellence Award' for working with the Primary Partnership team at Greenwich University. This is the quote from the student teacher that recommended us for the award. One of the pupils we have during work experience sent a letter detailing some of the skills she had learnt during her time at Montbelle.
At Montbelle Primary School we value the children and their thoughts about the lessons during school time and at after school clubs, these are some of their comments. Sportacus (after school club) 'Harry and Jack teach you how to pass, shoot and skills in football club.' (year 2 student). Cricket Club (Lunchtime club) 'I think cricket club is good because it is really fun and it helps you progress in your cricket.
