Like many of my other reviews, I visit places frequently but never leave a review unit months/years later! The Roman Camp is one of these places; I have memories of visiting when I was a young child, mesmerised by the garden. As an adult, I tend to admire the interior of the building and the food and drink. It’s a lovely spot with friendly staff, excellent food and quality drinks. I stopped here for a cold drink with my partner one evening last week; the atmosphere was quiet and calm, perfect for relaxing with a shandy. My family still eats here regularly with friends all these years later; the

Lovely place, friendly stuff. Got caught out in the heavy rain, was soaked from cycling in it.
They let me in till the weather had got better 2 weeks ago. Had a view so could see my bike while I had a jd and Coca-Cola then was back on the road.

Didn't order any food, just a drink. The beer was very good according to my dad and the staff were friendly. The gardens were absolutely gorgeous, there were multiple outdoor areas. The seating was comfortable. There was a nice fountain and clear signs showing the exit.

Arriving without a booking, we were lucky to be seated, albeit outside, for dinner on a cool evening.
The food, however made up for any climatic downside. We had the chicken breast, goats cheese tart and scampi and all were impressive. The desserts are of an equally high standard - none of your 3663 desserts for busy caterers here. Can recommend the Pavlova and sticky toffee.
Friendly, helpful service too.

Lovely building and garden with a well kept interior. Food ordered was well presented and a good portion for the money. Very good value. The two staff operating in the garden were very well presented and efficiant. We wondered if they had in fact been trained to silver service waiting? Lovely girls one of which was called Daisy, well presented, knowledgeable and even the make up and eye brows were on point !!
